I have been in mixed Luo Swahili country, but that was many years ago , in 1970. They were intermingled with the coastal Swahili tribe North of Mombasa along the coast in the Kikambala area. A minority,they dressed differently and wore little skull caps, and many of them chewed kat (Chat), especially the laborers. Contrary to the other local Swahili Muslims, they were not very friendly and quite stand-offish Muslims.

I didn't really like being around the Luo that much, and they tended not to stop to pick up hitch hikers ( which I was at the time, adventurous and full of vinegar) while the Swahili almost always stopped ,so that I had little difficulty getting around.

So I know how seperaatist the Luo are, first hand, and understand the Orange Party foundations.THey are only 12% of the population, and want Kenya under Sharia law, whih they are now well on thei way of achieving, thanks to Obama Jr. and his neo colonial Chicago Black Power politics over there in 2006/2007. He will aid that change from the oval office, and it will be bloody.

The grasshoppers there were about 7 inches long and about an inch wide.

I hear that motorcycle touring there is popular among certain members of the lefty black caucus. We will be hearing more about Kenya as the CIA likley starts becoming active there on the presidential hope and change order.
