There are doubts in my mind about this entire episode. I have followed it from the beginning. I have mostly refrained from posting because of the possibility of lots of fraud in all the wrong places.
The very fact that Obama hasn’t put this to rest causes some suspicion among Freepers that there might be something funny about his original birth certificate.
I do think we could just as easily be suspicious of the motives of the Kos gang and BHO’s rumor-stopping website... perhaps trying to set up a “sting” operation.
Let’s say- for the sake of arguement- that someones(s) at Daily Kos decided to do this as a set up. That assumes the birth certificate at Obama’s and Kos site is NOT legitimate right? Otherwise- why the set-up?
Sooooooo..for a cheap political trick- a presidential candidate allows fake docs to be placed on his official website and to stay there for over two weeks? So that he can at some later date, whip out the REAL one and say,nanny-nanny-boo-boo? Wouldn’t that candidate be at least dealing in entrapment?
Does that make sense?
By and large- it seems to me the best technical research has been done by Polarik. When read slowly and carefully, it’s compelling reading and it’s very hard to walk away and still believe these are official documents.
I haven’t even begun to honestly speculate as to WHY we would be presented with a false document- except privately- because there are too many things we don’t know.
Yes, what I think most are missing, but surely not you, is the possibility BHO is hiding the fact his parents were not married at his birth.
If so, he is guaranteed a White House berth. It will be perceived by most as an attempt by him to shield his children (especially daughters) from uncomfortable reality.
If this proves the case, then his polls will soar since the voters will respond to his “shield the daughters” response rather than any effort to truly fool others.
In the meantime, it is important to recall when President Clinton was being exposed as having fellatio performed by a female intern, his polls went up. They went up for the same reason—many saw his lies as attempts to protect Chelsey and Hillary. If our righteous Republicans would have just given him a censure they might have avoided the wrath that brought down Bob Barr, Robert Livingston Henry Hyde et al. Even Gingrich was implicated as having sex with an aide, but he avoided this conclusion by resigning from Speaker of the House. To this day Gingrich denies he responded to Larry Flynt’s efforts to expose Republicans purshing Clinton as being no better than he.
BHO will have a perfect weapon with this revelation to portray his critics as right wing, paranoid flakes and, subsequently, dismiss all the other rumors (many with substance).
