Virginia Goeldner, the half sister of Stanley Armour Dunham, told a reporter when she was interviewed by a local paper, that Madelyn Dunham told her in 1982, when she and her husband visited the Dunhams in Hawaii, that THE BOY’S MOTHER DIED IN 1970 and that’s why they had been looking after the boy...who was now in college on the mainland.
Madelyn didn’t say her daughter died in 1970. She said THE BOY’S MOTHER DIED.

Yes, I knew that fact, that his real mother, a Phillapina, died around 1970. But what VG isn’t telling you is that he was the Dunham’s step grandson, born in Indonesia in 1957 and who, along with five other youngsters, had been adopted by Lolo Soetoro.
In 1975 he began attending Punahuo under the cover name of Barry Soetoro, foreign student from Indonesia. Anna and Barack’s son had died from the complications of a fall from a tree in the Soetoro garden in Jakarta, and he passed away circa 1973.
Stanley Armour Dunham worked for the US State Department. (The Dunhams lived in Oakland, CA, following WWII; he was assigned to various US embassies; he was stationed in the Seattle, WA, area; then out to Hawaii.) He recruited Barry to work for the CIA. Barry Soetoro attended Punahuo, Occidental College (CA) and Columbia University (NY) under that identity. The CIA paid for it all. Barry Soetoro was naturalized in California 1983 after performing what the CIA wanted him to do in Pakistan.
There is a large body of disinformation surrounding this story, as one would expect from anything having to do with the CIA.
