Slick Willie got a free ride because he was already President at the time. If John Edwards speaks at the Dem. convention, he’ll be booed off the stage. Count on it. Would be a stupid move to invite him.

I think it’s because Bill was President at the time. Edwards doesn’t have a political position that requires partisan protection, so no circling the wagons for him. He can confidently and safely be thrown under the bus.

Just what I was thinking, too. When BJ did it, it was only about sex (lying under oath), therefore no big deal. These DUmmies seem genuinely upset about the Breck Girl’s transgressions!
They are in shock that what seemed a wonderful and carrying guy like Edwards in there eyes was a creep just like the right said he was.
This is not a good year for democrat icons. Their icon, Bill Clinton showed his true colors as a raving madman as he lost his temper on camera several times. Hillary’s coronation was crushed by a newcomer. The newcomer Obama is turning into a dud. The steamroller Spitzer was unseated by ego and libido. The mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick was arrested. What an amazing year that I can only hope continues.
