Yeah, hockey in 1980 was particularly nice when we beat the Soviets.

DUmmies being DUmmies. I am just surprised that most of them jumped on the poster for this ignorant idea. I figured most would probably admit to rooting for other countries.

I know I might get flamed for this but these people are the exact reason I changed my stance on abortion.

Hey, does anyone have the Olympics on now?
I'm just curious if I'm getting the same stuff at the same time as the U.S. is getting.
Men's volleyball right now...

That was the last time I watched the olympics.

it would be nice if some of the other 240 counties that are smaller got some The essence of liberalism, but very revealing.
A global agency that redistributed medals not according to performance but to "need" is (as DU commentators noted) a really stupid idea. But this is EXACTLY what they want to do with income and productivity. This is a perfect metaphor for liberal economics.

Men’s volleyball (in the pouring rain) and women’s cycling, also in the rain.

All in all the folks at DU are siding with America on this thread.
They are even pointing out the pussification of their fellow liberals.
Not really any smoke here much less a fire.

That is literally the stupidest f*cking thing I've read all day, and there are about 600 Edwards threads competing for that title. This really made me laugh out loud.
If there was ever a post that validates the RW stereotype of liberals, this is it
One thing freepers and dummies can agree on, the Olympics are bringing out the nuts on both sides.

some of these countries have good athletes but not the training facilities or opportunitiesSome of these countries are Socialist/Communist. The money isn't there for such frivolous stuff because it's hoarded by the elites.
I remember when I traveled in europe I stayed away from some Americans because it was embarrassing the way they acted - that holier than thou stuff
You mean, like you're acting here?
I find that same thing with republics - they act like they are holy and great and yet so many are in the closet or infidelity but you would think the dems were the only ones when in actuality - those most against something are usually guilty
Oh, republics=Republicans. I gotcha. Had me wondering there for a second. I'm one. I don't know anyone who's "in the closet" nor do I know anyone who's guilty of infidelity. Not to say they aren't there. But I'd bet they're a lot fewer than on the Democrat side. I mean, it goes with their territory, doesn't it?

The Olympics is about who can dope there athletes the best and rigged judging so often that the medals are pretty much meaningless these days.
