I'm looking at a Webster's New World Dictionary - it says nuance means a slight variation in tone, meaning, etc. It also says the word is from the French nuer - to shade.

So Obama's answer on abortion was shaded. Shady is as shady does.

So, saying the abortion issue is “above my pay grade” is more nuanced than...what? It is as we suspect. When a media blah-blah says a Democrat is “nuanced,” what they mean is either a) He’s full of s***; or b) I have no idea what he meant by what he just said.

Nuance = malarky. Can we get the Mad Hatter in here? Say what you mean!
