Yes, that’s sleezy enough, but he pretty much destroyed a man’s life by continually saying he was drunk. The driver was cleared, was not drinking, and Biden knew it. He claims he didn’t know....right....he didn’t follow the case of his dead wife and child?

Too bad the guy didn’t pursue this. Biden is a pig for smearing an innocent. I have no problem with him using personal tragedy to appeal top voters, it harms no one. THis though, is dynamite.

From what his family has said, he was so distressed by being in the accident and that Mrs. Biden and the child died, he could hardly function. When Biden started the lies about him being drunk, it really hit him hard and their entire family.
Someone (sadly my brother) has been spreading vile lies about me (nasty estate fight)- it has hurt me so much. This story needs to get out into the public. I can forgive people for lying about themselves, but someone else? Very hard to have sympathy for Biden after hearing this.

Well, honey, lie is what they do when they can’t get their own way. I’ve had the same experience with my family members which is why I moved off and left ‘em. All the good ones are dead anyway.
Can you see the context of this story? He's talking to "college kids". He relates a story about a blue-collar guy.
I can see all the empty headed kids nodding, thinking, "Yup! Another drunken blue collar guy. That's why I'm in college. This guy Biden. I can relate to his elitism".
Trying to be down with the empty headed liberals and got a chance to play the class card again.

I understand what you are saying. This is one of many times he’s repeated his charge against an innocent man. He only stopped when a reporter called him on it and tried to say he hadn’t ‘followed’ the case. Another lie.
Except there was no errant drunken driver. No drinking. No speeding. Not even bad brakes.

Senator-Elect’s Wife Dies in Auto Accident
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The pretty blonde wife of Joseph R. Biden was at his side through his campaign. They rejoiced in victory last month when he became the youngest man to be elected to the U.S. senate in this century.
Biden, an intensely family oriented man, had said earlier that he wanted his wife Neilia to get a doctorate and teach college when their children were older. In the meantime, he said, he wanted her “to mold my children.”
End in Tragedy
Biden’s plans for his family ended in tragedy Monday when a tractor-trailer truck slammed into the family station wagon near Hockessiri.
Mrs. Biden and the couple’s 18-month-old daughter Amy were killed and the Bidens’ two young sons were injured. Joseph, 4, sustained leg injuries; Robert, 3, suffered head injuries.
Also hospitalized was the truck driver, Curtis C. Dunn, 43, of Avondale, Pa.
Police said the station wagon “pulled from a stop sign” and was struck on the left side by the truck, “continuing approximately 150 feet, spinning around, going backwards down an embankment, and striking three trees.”
Biden, 30, Democrat, was in Washington at the time, working on staff appointments. He flew back to Wilmington and arrived at the hospital with his sister and campaign managers.
A half-hour later he departed with his son Robert in an ambulance.

In an apparent effort to reassure the child, Biden said: “I’m going to jump right in there with you, son.”
The boy was transferred to Delaware Division hospital nearby.
Biden met his wife, a native of Skaneateles, N.Y., during his junior year at the University of Delaware. Two years later, in 1965, after he finished his first year at Syracuse law school, the two were married. Mrs. Biden had been on the dean’s list and was homecoming queen at Syracuse.
Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hunter of Auburn, N.Y. Biden, a Wilmington lawyer and New Castle county councilman, had been soaring on the crest of victory after defeating veteran G.O.P. Sen. J. Caleb Boggs in the Nov. 7 general election.
At that time Biden was still 13 days shy of his 30th birthday, the minimum age required to be a U.S. senator.
Boggs, when notified of the accident, said, “It’s tragic and
terrible beyond words.”

The truck driver, Curtis Dunn, died in 1999 at age of 74. According to his family he never recovered from the emotional trauma of knowing he was involved in the accident that killed a senator’s wife and child.
The daughter of the truck driver invited INSIDE EDITION to her home for an interview to defend her father’s reputation and emphasize that the accident was not his fault. But in the small, tight knit state of Delaware where Senator Joe Biden is enormously popular, the daughter was distraught and decided she wasn’t comfortable appearing on camera to talk about how deeply hurt she’s been that her father has been falsely portrayed as a drunk driver who killed the Senator’s first wife and daughter.
I wonder if it made the tragedy less for Biden for him to falsely blame someone else. I hope the family of Dunn finds the courage to tell more of this story, but I certainly understand why they don’t. The lefties would smear them as well.

Even though he is an old fart, I doubt that Joe Biden, Jr. was old enough to qualify for Vice-President in 1972.

Mrs. Biden, driving a station wagon full of kids and a Christmas tree pulled into the truck's path. The driver, also a victim, had not been drinking and for the years before his death his reputation suffered with the false charge that Biden put out in the public for sympathy and political gain.Thanks Ernest, have a great day, all!
