I don't understand how that works, but in Boston a few years ago, there was 1 guy who was interviewed (it seemed) by journalists about 15 times in 2 months. Story about the Red Sox? The man in the street was Rocco Carbone. High energy bills? We interviewed Rocco Carbone down at the deli. Are taxes too high? Well, bus driver Rocco Carbone had this to say ...

They eventually did a story on Rocco and I believe he explained his technique for getting his name in the paper. I didn't care enough to remember what he did.

I wouldn't be surprised if the woman in Florida "changed her tune" strictly as a way to get her name in the paper. Again.
