This would be awesome. If he can get the chairmanship, he'll probably start putting forward ideas like 1994’s “Contract With America”, which gave the GOP the House and Senate for the first time in decades.

Yup, you hit it on the head. Newt can’t hope to win any major office anymore, but he is a brain trust with a real understanding of where the party needs to go, policy-wise. He’d make a very strong RNC chair, IMHO.
