Plain and simple...THIS TEACHER SHOULD BE FIRED!
Asheville City Schools Attn: Superintendent 85 Mountain Street Asheville, NC 28801 (828) 350-7000
Diantha Harris: Its a senseless war! [Stares at Kathy.] And by the way, Kathy, the person that youre picking for president said [Harris shakes her head] that our troops could stay in Iraq for another hundred years if they need to! [Kathy bites her lip, looks ashamed. Other kids stare at Kathy, laugh, smirk.] So that means that your daddy could stay in the military for another hundred years![Kathy is on verge of tears.]
[In an interview later:]
Diantha Harris: Now I can support whomever I want to support, as long as I dont browbeat another person for the candidate that they supported. Like I have some students that support John McCain, and when they told me that, I said ah thats good and I just moved on. So, I think that everybody is entitled to their own personal opinion.

And the teacher did this in front of cameras! Imagine how she is when no cameras are around!
Did you also catch the “O dear G-d” after the kid said McCain when asked who she supported for Pres?
Very rocky.

Yeah, they’d be on my special list that I don’t write down.
Okay so you think this is bad yet thousands of moms and dads pack their kids off to state college. Get your kid a technical education and make them pay for part of it—then once they have that let them use that trade to pay for college. A mature student is an aware student...I doubt this is very popular but it worked for us and I am simply and respectfully passing it along.
Phone call tomorrow.
I agree. I’ve seen too many happy well-adjusted kids go off to college on their parents’ dime, and come out of it bitter anti-American creeps.
Why pay to have your children brainwashed into communism?
Diantha thats all i needed to see and stopped reading
YES WE CAN only HOPE she makes a career CHANGE.
Another fine example of how the public school system has turned into indoctrination brainwashing camp. I guess you can’t really blame her, she got her marching orders from the NEA.
What power this teacher has over these children. She was intimidating them. She was browbeating them. She was basically telling that little girl that her father is “no good” because he is in the military. This woman needs to be fired, but she will be protected and receive “teacher of the year” award for her noble deed.
We are lucky that we live in this country. In most of the world your life is determined by the time you're eighteen. In this country we have a strong tradition of working adult students.
Before y’all start blasting the superintendent of Asheville schools, there’s this comment:”
Thanks for the pingback. Yeah, my blood boiled when I first saw this. But she doesnt work for Asheville. Turns out she works at Mary Mcarthur Elementary School in Fayetteville.”
I bet you are better for the experience—I put myself through college many years ago and found the financial hardship somehow liberating. The same worked pretty well for my kids but when I told our adult friends I ad no intention of paying for college, well it it what it is.
This is what happens when you let the Left take over public schools. If you don’t like it, start going to school board meetings, or run yourself.
Here's one idea I have: If conservative adults took one English class or Philosophy class or Education class (anything in the humanities) from a University in their area once a year, we would confront liberal professors with a legion of mature adults capable of witnessing and rebutting their radical ideas without worry of reprisal (at this point in my life, go ahead, give me a D). It would also give support to students singled out and suffering under the pressure from peers and brainwashers.
