And the blowback was that if it helped to prolong the primary season it also forced the Obama campaign to steel itself in numerous states and thus laying the groundwork for it to win in the fall. Pure conjecture on your part. Or
You should blowback to the Great White North before Bush invades you. I hear you're harboring terrorist up there.

Rush underestimated the magnitude of Obamas illegal foreign contributions. And the MSM's willingness to overlook it.

“Obama was easier to beat than Hillary would have been.”
_______________
Bad news. Obama turned out to be not so easy to beat.
But the post is correct for all the wrong reasons. Obama was greatly helped by a long, bifurcated primary with Hillary.
Imagine had Obama defeated Hillary very quickly and the GOP candidate as well as conservative media (Internet, Fox, AM Radio)was able to introduce and discuss Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers etc. very early when the country still had no idea who BHO was.
The long primary with Hillary helped BHO in two ways: 1). Since there was no clear Dem candidate, Hillary or Obama, the right did not choose a target so the damaging associations of Obama were held back so they did not influence the race and end up with H Clinton as the candidate. 2). Instead of being defined by the right, the long primary gave Obama the opportunity to introduce himself to the voters on his terms and allowed them to get used to him (and as it turns out lots liked what they saw).
I believe the long primary against one strong candidate helped Obama but that had nothing to do with Rush or Op Chaos. It was fun to watch the left squirm as Rush had them believing he was running the primary but that was about all it was.
On the other hand, had Rush and the rest of AM radio fallen behind McCain early, he probably wouldn’t have been trying to shore up the base in September and maybe, well......
Ah, hind sight is 20/20.
