I’m all for being a “big tent” - on OUR terms. In other words, we hold to our principles, and the moderates come to US, not the other way around.

Social liberals welcomed with open arms into a “big tent” Republican Party” will inevitably endeavor to undermine social conservatism within the GOP and institute their own views on social issues.
It is fallacious to contend that social liberals can be an integrated part of the GOP without them pushing the GOP hard in the direction of social liberalism.
