This one will not take years.
Revelation 18:8
Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her:
death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.
When those words were written it was assumed that the End of Times would be coming soon. Didn’t happen as expected nor in 1000 when many believed that it had to be then. Then every year or so some True Believer with Great Insight convinces a gullible flock that next month is the time.
It matters not.
That passage is speaking of Babylon.
The problem is that you do not know when that “day” is, who “her” is, or what the rest of the symbolic language means. But there are hundreds who will tell you exactly what it all means or so they say.
