I think an Obama supporter in either the Justice Dept or the FBI tipped off the Obama camp before they made a deal with Blago. That said, it may be that Rahm Emmanuel could be guilty of something by even taking part in such discussions without informing the Feds. Knowledge of corruption and not reporting it is a crime.

I would like Freepers to consider participating in an email campaing to Blago, offering support and encoraging him to call the legislature’s bluff to impeach. I don’t think most Illinois Democrats could survive such a public inquiry, including the President Elect. Blago should say, “Go ahead. Let us air our dirty laundry. Let he who has not sinned cast he first stone.”
Yes, but it wasn't stopped for that reason. Once Obama is installed, he was going to fire all those Prosecutors because they are of the wrong political persuasion (wasn't Bush investigated for that). Thus, if Fitz waited much longer, he'd have been out of a job and the man/woman replacing him would sweep the whole matter under the carpet. So they may have pulled the trigger a little early, but they nailed a big bad guy with the shot.
Actually, it’s not that bad for Zero. All of the tapes have Blago ranting about getting nothing from Zero in exchange for his senate candidate.
The only thing that could bite Zero in the butt is if it later comes out that he did in fact have at least one meeting (face to face or on the tapped phones) with Blago about Zero’s replacement. Zero has denied that he ever met with Blago for that purpose, so he would then be caught in a lie. (I hope Fitz puts Zero in front of a Grand Jury.)
I think Zero knew for a long time that Blago’s phones were tapped and so he knew not to offer any quid pro quo to Blago for a senate appointment. That’s why Blago went so ballistic when he was turned down.

Here’s another one to ponder. How about taking a good look at Michelle Obama’s previous activities. She tripled her salary by getting on that hospital board. What happened there? Who did who a favor and why? Do hospital boards always give raises like that? Was she THAT good? Nah.........
And here I thought we’d actually have to wait for BO to be crowned before the scandals started.

Fitz will protect all those associated with Obama. That's just his style. He is not going to offend his new boss. Rahm will be protected - insufficient evidence to show that he took part in or had knowledge of the illegal deal-making by others.
