HE’S A NEONAZI TRUTHER!!! Sorry I just had to, but yes, I agree with everything you have put forth.
Those sound like excellent additions.
I like and respect Ron Paul. And yes, his internet fundraising was amazing. Too bad for him it didn’t attract many votes.
There are, however, a whole host of problems associated with a purely doctrinaire libertarian like Dr. Paul. Consider the fact that most Republicans and conservatives like myself are paleo-cons who hold traditional values and are quite hawkish on foreign policy and military matters. We would take strong issue with candidates who are:
1) pro-abortion
2) pro-same sex marriage
3) pro-legalized drugs
4) pro-open borders
As a teenager, I loved reading Ayn Rand’s novels but as I grew older I reconnected with my Catholic faith and cannot fathom a continued existence in a world without God and Jesus.
There are a lot of good ideas in the writings of Rand and the liberatarian movement, but much of it goes way too far and beyond practicality. I hold many libertarian views myself, but I am basically a Ronald Reagan/Jesse Helms traditionalist.
Sure we can. The "rigid political orthodoxy" of conservatism is an easy metric to meet; just don't do anything illegal under the Constitution and a candidate meets the requirements. Is it really too much to ask that our representatives aren't criminals and thieves?
Team Sarah rocks! I’m one of the 62,000+ members! Sarah draws large crowds wherever she goes. The liberals are scared of her. She’s a rising star who we need in our conservative base.
