And I have also seen the countless majority die from the disease. (Only 1 in 35 actually accomplish a lifelong recovery.) You have much to be proud of and thankful for.
And America has no clue it is terminally ill, nor will it listen to the voice of intervention.
There’s a healthy part of me, I suppose it’s the Al-Anon part, that is nurturing a good chunk of detachment about it all, trying not to care too much, trying to take care of myself and not be too codependent toward my sick society! But even still, I watch....wait...type...phonebank & canvass...yell, scream, etc....
