Sure. And everyone gets a free pony, too!/s
If the GOP wants to win, it has to return to conservative principles, which means reminding the American peoiple that THEY as individuals, are primarily responsible for their own well-being and that liberty and representative government are ultimately incompatible with an overwhelming, interventionist nanny state.
By the end of this year, actual taxpayers will be a minority. And that will kill this once-free country for good. Got to hand it to the commies - it took them a long time but they've finally undermined this country and the sheeple willingly went along with the plan.
Jobs encouraged Slick Willy to go after MS.
Interpret the facts however you wish, it is still your interpretation.
I was working in the tech industry in the PNW and saw first-hand what the assault on MS did to the tech bubble in that area.
By the way, I'm no fan of Gates or MS. I don't really care about MS or Apple. But the yanking of VC killed the tech bubble. It was not only going after MS that caused that pulling of, but that certainly encouraged it.
>>Which porker are you going to kick away from that trough first?<<
Oh, I don’t know. Let’s start with illegal aliens. Then those who don’t/won’t pay taxes. That’s a good start.
Unless we quit paying. Come an get me “You Dirty Rats”.
I would invest in a giant can or Riad. Big can to spray the Capital.
Sorry, that's incorrect. In early 1991 several companies, concerned that Microsoft was using it's desktop monopoly power to squeeze out competitors in other markets asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate. The FTC began an investigation of Microsoft in March of 1991. Bill Clinton didn't take office until January of 1993.

I've been working in the computer industry since the early 1980s. I've seen dozens of large companies hurt by Microsoft's illegal and unethical actions. I've seen many smaller companies cease to exist directly due to intentional actions by Microsoft.
By 1999, venture capital firms didn't invest in Microsoft. Microsoft surpassed IBM's market value in 1993.
The tech bubble bursting was caused not by Microsoft but by a very large number of people that threw money at anything that had something to do with the Internet whether it was a viable business model or not.
Amen. And the further left-wing it goes the less likely it will survive.
While there were “monopoly” accusations before the Justice Department officially siced the dogs on MS, the Justice Department went after MS over the browser issue long after the initial complaints, and after Jobs contributed significantly to his friend, Slick Willy.
The “monopoly” accusation is one of the favorites of those who have a pathological hatred of MS, just as “stupid” and “liar” are some of the favorite terms to use by those who suffer BDS.
And you misread my statement. MS offered VC backing through a host of companies. And many VC companies invested based upon what MS was doing. A VC firm that floated a startup I worked for discussed these very issues.
You saw the bubble from one side. I saw it from another.
As I said, you have your interpretation. I have mine. We may both be right. We may both be wrong. We may both be partially right.
The biggest pressure to go after Microsoft came from Netscape, not Apple.

Nice try. The monopoly "accusation" is a legal finding of fact by a U.S. District Court and a U.S. Court of Appeals.
Microsoft can charge whatever it wants for it's Windows OS. While the price of every other sector of the IT industry, including other software, has plummeted in the last 20 years, the cost of Microsoft's OS has remained about the same. This is the monopoly at work.
And you misread my statement. MS offered VC backing through a host of companies. And many VC companies invested based upon what MS was doing. A VC firm that floated a startup I worked for discussed these very issues.
Interesting. On the other hand, there were many firms out there that knew (and still know) that Microsoft's investment arm is just like the rest of Microsoft's divisions. They exist to maintain the OS monopoly. Microsoft routinely buys up technology to kill it. Having Microsoft invest in your company is tantamount to a death sentence if Microsoft ever starts to think that it can use your product or service to further their monopoly.
Ask Stac. Or Spyglass. Oh wait. You can't. Because Microsoft destroyed them.
That doesn't make it illegal. That doesn't make the companies monopolistic. It's competition.
Some companies don't like being on the weaker side of competition, so they turn to the government to attack their competition. Big or small, these are corporate socialists.
Except when it isn't competition. When a company so dominates a market that it stagnates that market then there isn't competition anymore.

In the tech arena the government has always been involved. Government guarantees on patents and copyrights are the leverage that come companies use to create monopolies. Thus, asking the government to take action in a market that it already has been involved in is hardly socialism.
Enjoy your MAC.
Both Republicans and Democrats are guilty of using the government - and by extension, taxpayer money - to help their friends and punish their enemies. The only way to stop this is to take away their power to act and to spend, meaning a return to Constitutional government. At the present moment, few people seem to want that result, and so we will get bigger government, bigger deficits, more spending, and more centralized control - until the entire project becomes unsupportable and the economy responds accordingly. And it will.
Don't own a recent Mac. Sorry.
I've got an antique SE somewhere but nothing currently using power.
On the other hand, I have a laptop, two desktops and two servers using Ubuntu Linux, one server using Debian Linux, four servers running FreeBSD and one server running OpenBSD.
And not a penny of mine goes to those leftists at Microsoft.
