ust wondering: A married American missionary couple are working in a foreign country.

1. They have a child while living in the foreign country.

2. Is that child eligible to be President of the United States under the laws of the U.S. Constitution? Thanks.

No, not by the term, natural born Citizen as commonly understood by the framers. Vatel, Tucker, Bingham, and by corroborated inference to his pivotal letter to Washington: Jay.

*******

1. A young married American couple live in Seattle, Washington. Washington is right next door to Canada.

2. The wife is 8 months pregnant.

3. The couple decide to spend a few days in Vancouver, Canada---Vancouver touches Washington---because the baby is not due for another month.

4. While in Canada, the American wife suddenly goes into premature labor, and the baby is born in a Vancouver hospital.

5. Question: Is that child of an American couple who was born unexpectedly in Canada eligible to be President of the United States? Thanks.

If the SCOTUS were upholding the Constitution, the answer woul dbe no according to the framers’ use of the term natural born citizen. That’s why Donofrio believes McCain was not eligible either, he was born in Panama, in Colon, Panama, not in the Canal Zone.
