This proposal shows how Democrats are willing to sacrifice our national security to appease their left wing environmental base.

Obama went to the State Department before the Pentagon. Obviously he stopped by the EPA on the way to the Pentagon, too.

This kind of dumbass thinking could get a lot of our military people killed. I imagine the DemocRATS don’t have a problem with that.

Evil electricity generated by coal-fired and nuclear power plants? Why that’s an outrage!
The stimulus bill should mandate wind-powered vehicles for our armed forces. Especially the Navy.
You can’t be too green!

This is not a joke right? From The Onion maybe? Nope, it’s just libtards at work. Idiots. They cannot be trusted with anything, let alone national security. We are SO screwed.

Where are the solar panels?

You might want to study current military vehicle design, because you are acting a bit silly.
They ARE electric.

Well, I suppose if there’s one way to get those electric cars to really work the way they are supposed to...forcing the military to use them is it. But you’d have to give them a big fat budget to completely redesign the things from scratch.
Or not.
If the military is only going to use them to shuttle around VIPs on base, then it’s pointless.
Maybe obama should force the US post office to use them first, and see how that goes.

This proposal shows how Democrats are willing to sacrifice our national security to appease their left wing environmental base. At the various navy bases I've been on, electric golf carts are used to ferry the aircrews, maintainers and equipment out to the flight line and to run errands around base. Obviously, they're very limited in what they can do but for what they can do, they're indispensable.
And for what it's worth, I'll take those little electric golf carts over the useless CNG duty vans that barely run and can't be refueled off base.
I really don't think anyone is talking about combat vehicles but eventually we'll need to. That black stuff in the ground ain't gonna be there forever.

Could you give us a nudge in the right direction to see an example for ourselves? I guess I wouldn't know where to start to search.

You have to wonder if the democrat's cheese has completely slipped off their cracker. It did that about the time Sam Nunn retired from Congress. But since then Nunn's cheese as also slipped, when he jumped on the bandwagon for Obama, in April of last year.

Electric vehicles, no problemo.
Just get some big honking generators that burn diesel and . . .
What, you can't burn diesel, . . .
How about gas, no . . .
coal, wood, . . no, no . . .
Wind power you say????
Well . . .

DoD has been doing this for years. Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) for puttering around. The current rules require LSV when the vehicle is to be used in and are where they won’t be required to go over a certain speed (25 mph IIRC) or outside a certain radius.
