The Fabian Society - Fabian Socialism

Wiki: The Fabian Society is a British intellectual socialist movement, whose purpose is to advance the principles of Social democracy via gradualist and reformist, rather than revolutionary means. It is best known for its initial ground-breaking work beginning late in the 19th century and continuing up to World War I. The society laid many of the foundations of the Labour Party and subsequently affected the policies of states emerging from the decolonisation of the British Empire, especially India. Today, the society is a vanguard "think tank" of the Centre-left New Labour movement. It is one of 15 socialist societies affiliated to the Labour Party. Similar societies exist in Australia (the Australian Fabian Society), Canada (the Douglas-Coldwell Foundation and in past the League for Social Reconstruction) and New Zealand.

The British counterpart of the German Marxian revisionists and heavily influenced by the English Historical school, the upper-middle-class intellectual group - the "Fabian Society" - emerged in 1884 as a strand of latter-day utopian socialism. They became known to the public firstly through Sidney Webb's Facts for Socialists (1884) and then through the famous Fabian Essays in Socialism (1889) written by the Webbs, Shaw, and others.

The "Fabians" were named after Fabius, the famous Roman general which opposed Hannibal as they were "biding their time" until they would "strike hard". Exactly when this strike would occur was a perennial question. Eschewing the revolutionary tactics of more orthodox Marxians, the middle-class Fabians were more directly involved with politics and practical gains - through contacts not only in the "International Labor Party", trade unions and cooperative movements but also throughout the entire British political apparatus (Liberals and Tories included).

Glenn Beck has mentioned the Fabians on a few occasions, so i looked into it. It it's the "frog in the boiling water" theory...subtle, small changes...i see this here in Amerika now. there is more at work here then just left wing loons...

It's here and it's too late. It got in through the ballot box the same way that Salvador Allende got in. Hopefully, he will go out as quickly.

In my worst nightmares, I never thought I would live to see the day a Marxist occupied the White House.

On a long enough time-line, it’s basically a global version of the European feudal system. Concentration of power into the hands of a few is a BAD idea.

No poaching the King’s deer, the law says. Problem is, they’re ALL the King’s deer even if they’re on your property, and he could care less if you starve.

It’s being sold to different people in different packages. Everybody thinks they’re getting their chunk of the cheese til the trap springs shut.

Thank you for posting this.

Obama has embraced the fallacies of Fabian Socialism—the Keynesian approach to an economic recession—which destroys the resources of the affluent, while creating the illusion of problem solving. Since the destruction of assets is real, problems are only made worse in the long run. May I remind everyone that George Soros was a student of the Fabian socialist London School of Economics in 1949.

Knock yourself out. Steal any of my graphics you like and post them far and wide.

I serve a worthy cause. The rescue of a nation...
:) :D
Ok, okay... I know...
... they're only graphics, I know... but heck, the Commie b@stards are terrified of that kind of thing!

Remember in Communist Russia (the USSR) you needed to register typewriters. Now they are chastising our President on the dangers of Socialism.

Ridicule is one of my favorite weapons. The same one they used against President Bush for 8 years.
