Sarah's back taxes : The whole story

Posted on 02/21/2009 6:32:43 AM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

By now you've probably seen at least one liberal media activist get all twisted and contorted with excitement about Sarah's "tax issues". They haven't wanted to investigate Geithner, or the post master, or any of these other recent money scandals that have come out. Or the thousands of federal employees who owe back taxes. I still haven't seen any liberal media outlet address that one.

But here they are. First up, the liberals at CBS. And yes, they really put the BS in CBS with this one.

Get the very first line: -----Alaska officials on Wednesday ruled----

On wednesday? That was the same day. LOL!! These activists were just chomping at the bit to get this out there and put Sarah in the same league as the other tax cheats we've been hearing about.

Now, the libs at MSNBC/AP. In both the cBS article and this one, they omit a large part of the story, and two huge elephant-in-the-room sized omissions. The large omission? They're 2008 taxes. Note how neither of these articles lists what year the taxes are from? That's because if you haven't paid your 2008 taxes, it isn't a scandal. And it isn't for Sarah either. But this is the smaller of the points.

Elephant in the room #1:

As the cBS article states, the alaska officials ruled on wednesday this error. That means on tuesday there was no scandal. *BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY THAN THAT* that means on Tuesday Sarah wasn't fully aware of just how much she'd need to pay, when it would've needed to be paid, or even if it would've needed to be paid. The ruling didn't come until wednesday. DUH!

Elephant in the room #2:

In every liberal media article and "news" broadcast I've seen, every single one omits the fact that Sarah herself requested this probe. That's right folks! That is the biggest inconvenient fact in this story. For those who want to email this about to undercut the activist liberal media, I encourage you to do so. Here is an inclusion into the back story about how she herself requested this tax probe.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: drivebymedia; palin; sarahpalin; taxes; thewinterwar
As usual, the real story lies in what they omit

The other elephant in the room, is that the taxes amount to several hundred dollars (not tens of thousands), and the expenses she claimed where perfectly legal until the ruling came down last week to change it.

And no, I haven’t paid my 2008 taxes yet.

This is news, yet Obama and his cronies owe the city of Chicago 1.47 million dollars for his party and I have yet to see it mentioned anywhere on TV.

Oops, it’s even worse than I thought. It’s 1.74 million that the bastard owes.

Regarding the glut of Sarah Palin scandal B.S.:

When I check HotAir.com, AllahPundit (who runs the site for Michelle Malkin) trumpets the fabricated Sarah Palin scandal du jour. He did the same with this one.

I am surprised that Mrs. Malkin allows such dishonesty to be propagated on her site. She makes a living on her honesty, thoroughness and credibility (Which I believe is impeccable). Some of Allahpundit's created headlines and comments for Sarah Palin stories are baldfaced lies. He has made HotAir.com marginally better than MSNBC on his worst days.

I think we now know why he insists on remaining anonymous.

Do you have a link on that?

I bet you have paid your taxes. You just haven't filed a return yet.

Actually, it seems she will owe taxes on an additional $17,000 income. I don’t know which tax bracket she’s in, so she could owe a few thousand dollars. (still not tens of thousands)

I was under the impression that 2008 taxes weren’t due until midnight 4/15/09; or were these 2007 taxes that were due in 2008?

Either way it is a non story.

As long as anyone on either side of the fence says “don’t nominate Gov Palin for President in 2012” it is a sure thing that she should be nominated. If MSM and Democrats and RINOs weren’t afraid of her, they would ignore her. But they cannot ignore her because she is their greatest fear.

I believe Gov Palin would down-size DC and terminate certain unneeded Cabinet positions. I believe she would compare any Congress Approved Bill to the Constitution before signing it.

http://patriotshop.us has copies of The Federalist Papers for less than $10. Have you mailed yours to your 3 Federal Legislators yet? Write a cover letter asking them to read the paperback because you’re going to ask questions for ‘clarification’ of points in The Federalist Papers in a few weeks. And follow through on that promise.

Report your Congressperson’s answers here on FR. It should be veeeery Interestiiiing.

Agree. I like Hot Air, but mostly for Ed Morrisey posts. AllahPundit also has tendency to trumpet his atheism all the time. Not that I care what he believes, but I don’t need to read about it on every other post. There’s also an obvious dislike of Palin.
