The 2008 election.
Hey Yid,
1.We should be drilling to create jobs and optimism in America.
2.We should be building nuclear power plants to create energy, jobs and optimism in America.
3.We should be drilling to get off of the Saudi oil this way we can truly confront them and put an to the Wahhabi Mosques that they are opening here.
Win, win, win.
It went down the tubes with McCain
States can drill if they want to. I haven’t heard that The Messiah put the Executive Order back in place banning Offshore drilling.
California has steadfastly refused to take the oil and nat gas (but they are considering legalizing dope instead...).
Florida ought to be drilling their booties off to jumpstart oil royalties and create jobs IN FLORIDA!
We are currently drilling in New York, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Montana, West Virginia and i think Ohio. But most of those are natural gas. The biggest oil finds are sitting right off the left coast of Florida within about 60 miles and just north of the Texas/Mexico border right on the waterline. We could be drinking their milkshakes.
During last year’s debate about oil drilling, etc. The Democrats charged that oil companies aren’t drilling on land they already had leases for. They said that they weren’t using all the land available, so there was no need to open leasing on the continental shelf, etc.
But now they are canceling leases that were already in effect. What the heck are they doing that for?
I think Obama wants us all to have windmills and solar power. I’m all in favor of solar energy development, but in the here and now, we can’t just halt all development of those allegedly evil fossil fuels.
Hamster Obamster is in charge now, and such calls just won’t do.
There was once a neat bird called the dodo too...
He is PROTECTING his Muslim brotherhood.
If you want to Drill Here, Drill Now, you will need to hope the price of oil reaches and sustains a price of more than $85.00 a barrel.
Until then, we will not Drill Here, Drill Now, because we in the oil industry cannot make money at these prices.
Juan McCain was the one who’d had to have given the issue real life the few months before the November vote. But his position was little different from Obama’s, and Drill here, Drill now died before it ever really got off the ground.
In typical McCain fashion, he squandered that great campaign issue gift and gained no advantage whatsoever from it.
Our country may be allowing the worlds resources to dwindle to the point where we are the only nation left with any substantial amount of oil and coal, which would strengthen our position in the world.
However, I fear our resources are secretly being promised to China, in return for them buying our debt, thus the Chinese oil platforms off our U.S. coasts and the push for alternative energy schemes.
What happened is the government pulled the rug from under the oil and gas industry by canceling out the Utah leases, at the same time as the industry drilled its way out of prosperity (in the US shale-gas reserves ramp-up) and simultaneously killed the world economy (with $145/bbl oil that nobody could afford = tipping point of recession). Now we have excess resource in the USA of natural gas, and an oversupply of world oil from Opec. The US oil and gas industry will die off slowly or at least consolidate substantially, while at the same time alternative energy fails to gain traction because wind and solar cannot compete with cheap natural gas and cheap coal for generating electricity.
Obama, the Democrats and environmentalists are owned by the Saudis. They want to keep us as energy serfs.
This energy in the USA could reboot our economy and help get us out of debt. If we had a Reagan it could be done.
It died with our nation.
The repubs dropped “Drill Here, Drill Now” because, as usual, they are not as smart as the dems about staying focused on the really important issues. They are allowing Obama to steal the issue of energy independence, and, to make matters worse, letting him do it with a ridiculously stupid argument. Obama is running around claiming he is going to make us not dependent on middle east oil via solar and wind energy. That is demonstrably nonsense, but not a peep from the repubs to refute it. Wind and solar will never comprise more than a small portion of our electric supply. There is no wind and little sun on many days.
Just wait, we are going to be behind the eight ball on this, and will again have to play catch up the next time oil prices go back up. Yes, oil is low right now, but does anybody doubt it will go back up?
We should be contesting this notion and pointing out that the only way we can protect ourselves in the next century from dependence on foreign countries is to re-start our exploration and development of our own energy reserves.
We should also be screaming every day that if Obama is so interested in creating new, good-paying jobs, why are he and the dems so adamantly opposing an industry that could generate thousands of such jobs? Put the pressure on them for a change.

Supertankers that once raced around the world to satisfy an unquenchable thirst for oil are now parked offshore, fully loaded, anchors down, their crews killing time. In the United States, vast storage farms for oil are almost out of room.
As demand for crude has plummeted, the world suddenly finds itself awash in oil that has nowhere to go.
Its been less than a year since oil prices hit record highs. But now producers and traders are struggling with the new reality: The world wants less oil, not more.
They relied solely on the empty words of a lunatic who eventually murdered everyone under his control.
