The Pasadena Star News has felt it important enough to publish a Guest Editorial from a Rev. Ken Wilson of The Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan - See "Evangelicals and Biologists Apologize During Lent" - Link: http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/ci_11860469
In his editorial, Rev. Wilson states he invited "Evangelical" Christians to repent of their anti-science and anti-Charles Darwin views during the Christian Lent season. The response to his informal sociological survey was 182 blog posts repenting of any anti-Darwin views and zero opposing Rev. Wilson's invitation (182-0). I went to the Rev. Wilson's website and I could not find one blog post by a proclaimed "Evangelical" that angrily disagreed with him or had anti-Darwin views - see here http://kenwilsononline.com/. In other words, the notion that Evangelicals are anti-Darwin or anti-science was apparently non-existent, at least in sample survey of 182 respondents on his website. Perhaps this blog opinion survey revealed more about Rev. Wilson's views than those of his respondents?
The rhetorical device used by Rev. Wilson is a disingenuous trick of using what is called a "loaded question" (example: a prosecutor in court asking you: "when was the last time you beat your wife?" (a question which can not be answered). On loaded questions see here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loaded_question
So I respectfully ask Rev. Wilson, when will he repent for fabricating the shibboleth of an apparent straw-man anti-science Evangelical in the first place and using self-accusing trap questions? Perhaps such liberal stereotypes, not alleged Evangelical anti-Darwinism, are at the root of the "culture wars"?
Matthew 7:5 You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye. Then you will see clearly to remove the piece of sawdust from another believer's eye.
What about anti-naziism and anti-communism (i.e. being against the major ideological doctrines spawned from darwinism)? That a problem to the californicators too??
I’ll say it again: God does not use broken tools, and evolution is basically incompatible with modern mathematics and probability theory. The biggest group which rejects evolution on a percentage basis is probably mathematicians.
All of science could get along just fine without philosophical debates about origins. Try it. Any of the hard sciences could be taught without delving into the subject of origins. In fact, the time that our educational systems spend teaching origins, arguing about origins, would be better spent teaching our young people facts about the branch of science they are studying. The evangelicals need to apologize for nothing regarding the hard sciences, but they, along with evolutionists, need to apologize for taking up so much valuable education time with a debate that serves little good in the hard sciences. But, don’t let me spoil the fun of ministers with struggling churches or science teachers with students who can’t name a single part of a cell, but know all about Darwin.
Better yet how about Ken Wilson repents his spreading of Satanic lies like evolution? Even slammites like Harun Yahya who are against evolution are on better theological ground.
