Holy crop! I know this person. The photo doesn’t show everything. He did it to himself while fishing a stream. His lure got caught in a branch and he tried to jerk it free; it finally freed shot right at him, caught his left ear, which he somehow managed to rip off; the lure swung around skewering his eyeball (and lens). Believe it or not 6 months after this, he has a synthetic lens and 20-20 sight again.

I just had to take my cat to the vet to get a lure removed from his mouth..... He caught it on his own though.
