All are 100% govt control, it matters not, its symantics.

The video is a description of the 5 supposed forms of government, from 100% government control (Communism, fascism, totalitarianism etc) to 0% government (anarchy) it obliterates all forms of government as only temporary and futile except for 2, oligarchy and republic. It does this in a clear concise manner, which effectively shows even a grade schooler about them. It then, in the last few moments, explains Rome, its beginning as a republic, and its morph into a democracy. The parallels are well put, and clearly where this country is today. It is an excellent way to spread the word to those who have never been taught proper history, and that is alot of people since they have been re writing it for so long now.

I have been posting this sucker all over all day, and sometimes I forget that some are stuck at work, so I have included the above basic description of the video, however it does not do the video justice. I beg, implore and urge all to view it who have not. THIS is the reason we are so angry. Taxes are a symptom, losing our republic is the disease!!!!!

Communists seek to own the means of production.

Fascists seek to control the means of production. In von Mises's day, this was by million-mark fines. Now it's by cap-and-trade.

Socialist means one or the other of these, the definition isn't fixed.

Both of them are totalitarian ideologies: denying the concept of property, equality under the law and public accountability.

Hitler's Germany ——National Socialist Party and they are the epitome of facism. Fact is fascists start by taking control of the banks and the industry. These are not seperate ideas but fundamentally the same

“liberals and leftists who have called me a fascist on many occaisions”

It amazes me to see libs use “FASCIST!” as an insult, when that is EXACTLY what they are pining and working toward. And it goes to the heart of the problem, in my opinion.

A dumbed-down electorate, with no knowledge of history. Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

How about statist, totalitarian, collectivist, authoritarian, tyrant, (or a few others that include being preceded or followed by words that are of a four letter nature? I wouldn’t be too concerned about labels, because when you get right down to it whatever he is/claims to be it ain’t anything good.

There are, however, significant differences between the two ideologies. Socialism advocates government ownership of the leading industries of the nation, fascism allows for private ownership of large corporations so long as they do what they are told. Socialism promotes secularism, fascism often seeks the support of the Church. Fascism is also usually very supportive of the military and nationalistic in nature, whereas socialists are generally more internationalists in their world view and approach.

You are wrong by your own score card.

Obama doesn't want state ownership of all business (too much work). He just wants controlling interest and the ability to pick the players. Just like the fascists.

I can see where the issue of the church confuses you, but that's because you don't recognize the Left's religion as a church. The do in fact demand allegiance to Global Warming, Environmentalism, Multiculturalism, etc. and they treat the lack of it as blasphemy.

On the last point of nationalism vs. internationalism, I disagree. Hitler didn't center his ideas on Germans, he centered it on Arians. The Arian concept was very transnational (although restrictive), as shown by its many international adherents. Meanwhile, Stalin's USSR was all about Mother Russia.

Fascism is really socialism, there is just a thin veneer of ‘ownership’. The state runs you de facto by heavy regulation. It tells you what to do.

In some ways it’s worse than socialism because under fascism, all the ‘negatives’ of private property (being responsible for your bills, having to pay business taxes, paying property taxes) are yours, at the same time the government tells you how to run your business and you can’t say no. At the same time the fascist government can proudly proclaim they are all for private business and that anyone cna have a private business and make as much as they want to make. Total hypocrisy.

BHO is a statist. I suspect he is not very concerned with the ideology behind his statism. He is just concerned with advancing the state vis-a-vis the non-government.

The Nazi Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) was fascist, but notice the term socialist within its name. When our government starts buying shares in GM and becomes the principle stock owner, is it fascist or socialist at that point? When the government tells GM what cars it can make and whom to fire, does it really matter what we call it? It is totalitarianism, regardless of the distinctions one might make between socialism and fascism the end result is the same, that is that the state becomes god and man becomes a slave.

I am going to have to go with the Dems are Fasist. They seem more interested in controling the means of production than owning them ( when the rename the GM plants Peoples tracotr factory #1, #2 etc. then I will call them Communist but the Dems have marched far beyound socialism already)
