Influenza Potential as Bio Weapon: Pandemic Transmission - Raw Data
Greg's Blog on Terror ^ | April 26, 2007 | Greg C.

Excerpt from CDC on transmission:

"In contrast, the situation with a pandemic strain of influenza A (H5) would become only too clear because no one would have any degree of immunity against such a virus, vaccines would not be available for months, and these viruses would likely be highly virulent. Even though efficient human-to-human transmission of the A (H5N1) virus has not yet been observed (by any mode), transmission of influenza A (H5N1) by aerosols from geese to quails has been demonstrated in the laboratory."

"In principle, influenza viruses can be transmitted by 3 routes: aerosols, large droplets, and direct contact with secretions (or with fomites). These 3 routes are not mutually exclusive and, as noted above, may be difficult to disentangle in natural infections."

There is a normal period of incubation during which time the carrier displays no symptoms, but can infect others.

What's the incubation time for this?

Freepers deeming it "MEXICAN SWINE FLU"

IMO, I don't care if it will do us any good or not, we need to DEMAND our borders be effectively secured, now.

I wonder about the effectiveness of biohazards in these days of international travel. Unleashing a swine flu in the U.S. would ultimately release it on the whole world, I’d guess, including the nation(s) that unleashed it in the first place.

I thought the chain letter analogy for Captain Trips was really powerful, especially when King described the lives and actions of some of the “carriers” of CT. You feel sorry for the New York family knowing they’re all going to die. I really like the quote near the end of the chapter:

“Chain letters don’t work. It’s a known fact. The million dollars or so you are promised if you’ll just send one single dollar to the name at the top of the list, add yours to the bottom, and then send the letter on to five friends never arrives. This one, the Captain Trips chain letter, worked very well. The pyramid was indeed being built, not from the bottom up but from the tip down- said tip being a deceased army security guard named Charles Campion. All the chickens were coming home to roost. Only instead of the mailman bringing each participant bale after bale of letters, each containing a single dollar bill, Captain Trips brought bales of bedrooms with a body or two in each one, and trenches, and dead-pits, and finally bodies slung into the oceans on each coast and into quarries and into the foundations of unfinished houses. And in the end, of course, the bodies would rot where they fell.” (Book, uncut edition p. 70)

The poorest nations on Earth are the ones most vulnerable to this disease especially where pandemics are concerned. The other countries most vulnerable to a pandemic of this disease are countries that are ruled by despots, tyrants and dictators.

Indeed, we ought to play a page right out of Rahmbo Emanuel’s alinskyesque book, not let this crisis go to waste!

The one that REALLY worries people is a potential flu virus that could sweep the world like the infamous Spanish flu virus of 1918. Given the transportation systems of today, a death toll in the 200+ million range worldwide from such a virus is not far-fetched.

More reason why we should close the Southern border immediately and not let in any more illegal immigrants, period!

Well, if the Mexican government decided to cancel ALL public gatherings and events (I believe just in Mexico City) then that move tells me that we actually should close the border crossings alone...

Put the troops on the border now and contain ALL illegals coming in and being caught recently inside the US under some of those interesting CDC protocols...

IF this is as serious as they want us to believe...

Any other action by the government is incompetent...

Please understand that many of the people who died from the Spanish flu, actually died of complications. We have antibiotics to treat the secondary infections.

Along with that, the majority of the cases here in the US have not even been hospitalized. We are in a panic when we should be watching and preparing.

Have a month’s worth of food in your house. Be able to stay there and not need anything. We can do nothing to prevent a flu outbreak.

I am also quite concerned about an influx of Mexican illegals that will flood into the US via our porous borders bring the Swine Flu with them.

Healthy illegals will flood in to get away from the flu in Mexico and likewise sick illegals will also flood in seeking medical care. This will serve to spread the swine flu within the US.

The sick illegals will cause our health care system to crash and will serve to infect our health care providers as well as first responders. We will also see outbreaks of the more deadly Mexican version of this Swine Flu which I call Spanish Flu 2, the sequel in areas of the US where illegals settle.

It is bad enough that the virus is here, even now, it appears in NY City, another area where large Mexican populations are found. The Illegals will spread the virus to rural areas where they work as transient farm workers and to cities and suburbs where they work in the restaurant trade and as servants in US homes.

This virus is going to be next to impossible to control but with an influx of sick Mexican illegals, it will break out like wildfires on government woodlands.

For what it is worth to anyone interested?
Years ago, I read that all diseases start in that stomach. I wish I knew where I read that...but it had to be more than 20 years ago. (A natural healing type health book I am sure)
Along with that...rabies shots are given in the stomach.... which at that time made even more sense about what I had read.
You keep your stomach happy with ‘acidopholis’ and I really think this helps.
From my own experience...taking acidopholis every day....I can’t remember when I have caught anything that has gone around.
I’m sure this seems too ‘back woods and folk medicine’..which I am....but I am only repeating what I had read ‘someplace’ years ago. I say..if it works don’t change it.
I feel the proof is that since I started taking acidopholis faithfully...I don’t seem to catch bugs that are going around.
Walmart has acidopholis..I get mine at Puritan. They are cheap and it works. I also eat ‘real’ yogurt, which have live cultures in them. That’s all.

At a global population of 6.7 billion and a fatality rate of 1 in 16, the Mexican Swine Flu could wipe out 418 million people.

God bless you, sir, for your honesty about the real and true facts of the situation in Mexico. I guess the only thing that will do any good at this point is complete and total isolation and quarantine of the those infected with this horrible disease.
