One my wife is playing actively now, and one I enjoyed for a while (and might get back to if I can justify yet another fee), is Lord of the Rings Online. The game is pretty well done and content controlled and nicely blends with the lore of J.R.R. You will really enjoy the game if you are familiar with the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and Simarillion, written forms. You do have to enjoy the genre, though.

There are no “evil” characters (you play races and do quests that aide the ring bearer). It is also the only game I have been in where it is fairly easy to be in a Christian kinship (super group). I keep peeking over at the screen when my wife is playing and I am happy to see how often she runs into characters from that kin.

Monthly fees are reasonable. Just Google, “Lord of the Rings Online”.
