Has any president inherited such a multitude or diversity of crises simultaneously? Can’t we cut him a little slack?

How about Truman? He 'only' inherited WWII with Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo still alive and had been kept completely out of the loop by FDR; whereas Ø, not only claimed to know the problems, he had been the driving force of US policy (e.g. TARP) even before his election. He had to mop up the half of the war FDR left him against the guys who hadn't attacked us (as W left Ø Iraq) and faced 100,000s of expected casualties to end the front against the guys who actually attacked us. Truman ended that half, the war in Europe, within his first month. As for the half a World War against the guys that actually had attacked us, the Japs, comparing by Ø's days in office Truman A-bombed Hiroshima... yesterday. Truman will do Nagasaki Tuesday and see Japan surrender a week from tomorrow. Meanwhile Ø is doing ok in Iraq... Bush, unlike FDR with Europe, had already seen the chief bad guys die there. But as for Ø's attacking enemies, Osama and the Taliban, they not only are still at large, but are extending their reach. Both they and their ideological ally, Iran, are threatening to obtain A-bombs to use against us! Their surrender isn't expected within the week. Meanwhile on the homefront Ø's biggest effort, the Porkulus Bill, has been proven to be an abject failure at its most touted goal, holding down the unemployment spike from the recession. Unemployment now with the Porkulus, is higher than Ø had warned, during the Porkulus debate, that unemployment would reach at this time without the Porkulus.

I see we are all giving Miss Lillian an education on what’s real and what’s imagined in her own iddy bitty mind.
