To: Gay State Conservative
If a President...a male President...gets divorced during his term who is it that's forced to leave the house.In ordinary divorces the woman gets to stay in the house 99% of the time.

Except the President neither owns nor has a lease on the White House. He's just allowed to live in it as a perk of his job. It would be like if your company supplied you with an apartment close to your workplace as part of your job.

So if John Smith,a Microsoft VP,is given a house as part of his compensation package and,during this time,his wife Mary files for divorce (and has,say,two young kids),the divorce court orders Mary and the kids to leave? I sincerely doubt it.

Actually,I shouldn’t have said “given” a house.It should have been ‘allowed to live in” a house.
