Love Letter To America

My name is Tomas David Schuman. I am what you may call a "defector" from the USSR, and I have a message for you: I love you very much. I love all of you-- liberals and conservatives, "decadent capitalists" and "oppressed masses," blacks and whites and browns and yellows, rednecks and intellectuals. For me you are the people who created a unique nation, country and society in the history of mankind,-- by no means a perfect one, but, let's face it-- the most free, affluent and just in today's world.

I have posted this before, as well as videos from Yuri Bezmenov. I do so again lest we forget. As an earlier thread stated, we are racing towards Marxism (If not there already). Like a frog in water that will boil to death, not realizing the subtle change around it, we have allowed our freedoms, our cultures, and our institutions, to be infiltrated, corrupted, maligned, and slowly taken away.

Where are the true patriots? Where is the Church? If we are to fall let it not be in silent surrender like a lamb led to the slaughter. Let us go down fighting, kicking and screaming..

Americans are a laid back people. We will put up with a great deal before we are angered. We have let the MSM rule and the Liberals us emotional arguments to make their cases. But, know this, Americans can be a hard headed group when angered and rallied. There is a meanness to the the American Story as well as a generosity. Long before we fall into a collectivist state will come rebellion and national terrorism. Americans invented terrorism with the KKK. When pushed, Americans will push back harder. It will not be a pretty sight.

We are reeping the rewards of the Hippie movement. But, just wait till Americans are pinched and our lifestyle is altered by inflation, high gas prices and Global Warming taxes. Americans will be angered them when they must feel the pain. Americans are not used to suffering and waiting in long lines. No way you can blame Bush or paint a happy face on misery. Keith Obermann can’t make this look like progress.

I know ardent Democrats who are exasperated with the panoply of tax cheats in the administration and who have also confided to me that they are already pinched in terms of the cost of energy, one to the point where she only allows herself a full hot bath 3x/wk when, before, it was a simple daily pleasure.

Another couple have seen their State education pensions cut, are just hanging in there until they can qualify for SS/Medicare, complain bitterly about the cost of health insurance and refuse to even think about any plan other than Blue Cross and would not accept anything that doesn't include dental and vision. They are aghast to discover the cost of Medicare supplemental insurance that is up to that standard. It is beginning to dawn on them that they are not going to get a cadillac plan from the government for the cost of a Yugo.

Neither of these folks can really afford the cost of gasoline or the cost of propane for winter heat/hot water or the present escalating cost of electricity. Even though one of them has a scientific bent and education, I have not heard one complaint about either AGW or carbon taxes or the dream of totally alternative energy production. If I bring that up, they literally take a step back, hem and haw, look away and change the subject, saying “But we must do something!.”

These are intelligent, educated professional people. They live their private lives conservatively. They would never, ever vote for anything other than a Democrat, they love all unions, they are giving zerO “a chance”, and they are quite willing to continue on for a full 4 years with the possibility of a second term. They will not ever blame zerO, the donks, liberalism, et al for a thing. Everything bad is the fault of “the greedy rich” (who are all Republicans) and of Bush.

They remind me of abused women who rush out to bail out the perp as soon as they are released from the hospital.
