Admittedly it is Rare that entire economies are destroyed to the point that they are replaced I did say Rare not impossible. Generally the causes are hyper inflation or external forces i.e., War. But it does happen. Here are some examples.

So far, the collapse of the world economy since mid-2008 has been worse than it was in the Great Depression. In fact, one glance at the fall world output, trade, and stock prices really puts the "green shoots" in perspective.

Indeed the communists have never fully recovered. We will wind up here at some point. Either the communists will be purged or the patriots will be purged. Presently it doesn't look too good for our team.
