But what does NK have to gain from the attack ? I haven’t heard this explained well yet .
Kim Jung Il will prove he is every bit the Defender of the glorious North Korean Communist revolution that his daddy was.

The reason you have not heard it explained well is because one cannot explain psychopaths very easily and NK’s leader is a psychopath.

Really a dumb premise. To think that an attack on American soil by a tin horn dictatorship like North Korea would somehow rally American support for Obama is absurd. Especially given the advance warning. Frankly, Obama had best hope there isn’t a single significant attack on our soil while he is President, because he might be physically removed from office should that happen.

This one is a litle too far-fetched for me.
0bama won’t retaliate with nukes. If some group actually takes this extreme measure then you know they have already thought out the consequences.
There would have to be some serious, global leverage to use against the US so that it wouldn’t retaliate. China comes to mind here, somehow. As does Russia.
But we still have India and the UK on our side so, as I said, this is a pretty extreme scenario. You’d need extra heavy tin foil for this one (I hope.)
Sorry, but this shouldn’t be on FR. We do not accuse, like the Democrats did, the President of the United States of a consppiracy to kill his own citizens. What BO does is already crazy enough without introducing this sort of Kieth Olberman style BS
If BO gets us killed, it will be because of his sophmoric understanding of the world at large, but it would be negligenet, not intentional.

It is as whacky to say FDR intentionally let it happen, as to say GW Bush intentionally let 9/11/2001 take place.
Moving on, speculating Obama would declare martial law and confiscate our weapons, is dreamed up from nowhere.
FDR didn’t dclare martial law, or confiscate weapons. He interned Japanese origin people.
I think too many on the political right are wasting time dreaming up radical scenarios, instead of opposing legislation on topics that have been discussed for years, long before Obama came along.
Health care is not Barrack Obama’s new, radical scheme.
In comparative terms, the Japanese military was a far greater threat in 1941, than Korea is today, relative to the military and economic strength of the US.
If Obama under-reacts to any military adventurism against the US, he becomes Carter. IMO.
Therefore, Obama has effectively set himself up, to have too react strongly.
