What would you do if you were staring down the barrel of a shotgun, with a hooded man demanding your money or your life, but all you had in your pocket was five dollars and a .380 pistol?
Here is a very candid, post-shooting incident interview with a man who experienced exactly this situation and the law enforcement officials handling the case.
There are many real world lessons to be learned in this very rare and extremely educational video interview
This is a video you are not likely to see very often.
Watch the video and then see my comments below as I point out important lessons to be learned from this incident.

I do notice a lot of “You must have...” coming from the media.
That is either pure arrogance telling someone what they should have done/felt, or the pure stupidity of stating the obvious.
I noticed that he said he got the gun from his trunk. I’ll betcha the “guns at work” bill that Florida approved last year, saved his life. Before 2008 an employer could ban you from keeping a gun in your car in their parking lot at work.
Ignatius Piazza looks like Freddie Mercury.
Is “shoot the reporters” an option?
Good post!
The author of the piece that accompanies the video, Ignatius Piazza, is a solid citizen himself. When the effort was underway to get airline pilots armed, Piazza offered top quality training at his facility-FREE! - to any and all airline pilots. All he required was letters on official airline letterhead from the management of their carriers.
The FAA nixed the deal in an effort to thwart the push for armed flight crews.
Given that he was making an offer that could have easily cost him several million dollars, that is putting your money behind your beliefs!
Yeah, just let the media types get in this situation and their attitude will change big time. A liberal is someone who hasn’t been mugged yet. If some moron pulls a gun on me, then all bets are off, I am in fear for my life. I don’t care what it takes, it is time to take that scumbag down and keep him down. I grew up in public schools in Houston and learned that it doesn’t matter how big you are, it matters how far you are willing to go. Carried a roll of dimes in case of a fistfight. Worked very well.
A bit off-topic, but please educate me on some of the finer points - is the most effective technique to grasp the roll of dimes completely inside your clenched fist, or to use the roll of dimes as the “leading edge” of the blow, or something else?
A roll of dimes fit just perfectly in your fist. Makes for a hell of a punch. Plus surprises the bad guy.
