How about the after-party?

You would think that FReepers, among the most political astute Americans around, would wake up and smell the Jack Daniels and realize that all of this "Palin's going 3rd party!" nonsense is being promoted by none other than the liberal media, the DNC/Zero administration, and the RINO party.
Now don't get me wrong. I loathe the leadership/machine of the GOP and personally believe the party will go the way of the Free Soil Party if it doesn't elect a genuine conservative whose agenda contrasts sharply with that of Zero, otherwise say hello to another Zero term.
But promoting Palin for a 3rd party bid is simply foolhardy, at this time. Sorry, but I don't see any elected Libertarians, Falcon, AIP, or Constitution Party members fighting Obama's Cap and Tax and Gov't Healthcare schemes. Republicans are doing it, and like it or not, the conservative Republicans deserve our support while RINOs must be flushed out with conservative challengers.
Palin is not going to go 3rd party because she could have easily done so in 2006. She stayed within the existing AK GOP establishment and won. That's how you win, is to take back control of the party from the feckless moderates and fight for conservatism. This is exactly what that kook Ron Paul did and as a result it has brought back the fiscal conservative wing of the GOP. There is no 3rd party run by Sarah, unfortunately for the liberals.
Also I'd like to add, that Palin is NOT "reaching out" or supporting Democrats anywhere, anytime. What she is doing, is telling the Blue Dogs to stand on the conservative principles that helped them get elected or risk being shown the door if they don't stand with her agenda. That is what this "Independent Conservative Movement" is all about. Isolating conservatives from both parties to stop the leftist agenda and at the same time force the Republicans to stop running RINOs.

I have seen no freeper thinking there would be a 3rd party... Sarah PAC, which I would not give a dime, has already given $5K each to McCain and Murkowski, who are RINO’s.

THANK U SO MUCH for posting this. The whole idea of Sarah becoming an Independent or creating her own 3rd party was beyond hilarious. Sarah is a Republican, and she was never intending on leaving the party. That was just smoke the liberal media wanted to shove up our asses. What Sarah is doing is sending the GOP a message to wake the hell up and stop acting like such RINOS, will they listen, who knows. But no, Sarah isn’t gonna help any Dem into power, she said “Conservative Democrat” knowing they don’t exist. The idiots in the media fell for her trap, Sarah played it perfectly. Dems today already said they don’t need her help, like she was ever planning on helping them, seriously, Dems pretend to be so intellectual but they can’t see a trap when they see one LOL. Sarah is gonna fight to bring this party back to our Conservative roots, that was always her intention, and I hope she is successful.
We’d take her in FALCON, if she boned up a bit on global warming and amnesty.

I don’t think Palin has any intention to go 3rd party but she sent a shot across the GOP bow and I support it. With one public statement, she has given voice to conservative frustrations and shaken the RINO establishment to its foundation.
It will be fascinating to watch this play out.

Sarah Palin winning the Presidency would accomplish very little if the 3rd party doesnt’ have any Congressional Seats.....She would constantly be battling and having to make deals with both Dems and Republicans in order to get anything done.
A Strong 3rd party has to be built like any grassroots org...From the bottom up. Start local then build to a national level...Maybe that’s what she’s doing in order to run for POTUS in 2016...I don’t know. If not she would be better of running as a Republican then “Cleaning House” when she gets in office.

Read the Huckabee threads. Huckabee is using a briar patch tactic to get Palin to go 3rd party and FReepers unfortunately have bought it.

She surely hasn’t said any such thing. There is a difference between building YOUR base and actually making the break.

I want a party within the party. I want it to have its own mini-conventions and fundraising apparatus and candidates and everything else. Inside the GOP, possibly attracting many sane(r) libertarians too.
