can not afford not to.

If you want your 90 % to go further you better do it. Otherwise is like having holes on your pocket.

Tithe and more here too, doing cheerfully.

After I realized that I never approach the standard deduction by itemiseing, I have been saving my tithes to give many years worth at the same time.
This will allow a much bigger deduction and deprive the immoral goverment of as much money as possible.

No. What does giving some preacher my money have to do with promoting American values?

You are not given it to some preacher, you are given it to God, after all, it is all HIS.

I always hear if you don't give 10% (plus) you are robbing God. When did pastor so and so who lives off the backs of the people, not hitting a lick at anything become God? It makes me want to yell Pharaoh, “Let My People Go”!!!

If you live by the old law you are suppose to keep all 613 of them and if you break one you've broke them all.

Jesus as our example was a carpenter and Paul who set up the Gentile Church was a tent maker. In other words they had jobs. Remember if you don't work you don't eat?

We don't take up offerings instead we give away money every week. He wants a people who freely gives (out of love because of his Grace not because of the law).

No one can out give God since he owns it all.

We should help the needy not the greedy.

There were 3, YES 3, tithes mentioned in the Old Testament.

Notice how the only one that preachers endlessly TOUT (and proclaim fire and brimstone on your head if you don't give) is the one where they get the money. YOU NEVER, EVER HEAR THEM PROMOTING THIS TITHE!

Tithes of divine service

22 Thou shalt surely tithe all the increase of thy seed, that which cometh forth from the field year by year. 23 And thou shalt eat before Jehovah thy God, in the place which he shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock; that thou mayest learn to fear Jehovah thy God always. 24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to set his name there, when Jehovah thy God shall bless thee; 25 then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and shalt go unto the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose: 26 and thou shalt bestow the money for whatsoever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul asketh of thee; and thou shalt eat there before Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou and thy household. Deut 14:22-26 (ASV)

NOT A PEEP EVER MENTIONED ABOUT THIS TITHE! AND WHY?! BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING IN IT FOR THE SELF-SERVING TOUT!

For the record: I do believe you are to return a portion of your wealth to God, but not under compulsion and not some rigid Old Testament standard.

Right, so why can’t he just give to any of God’s people?

American values are derived from the bible. Tithing is God’s way of financing the spreading of the gospel throughout the world. It is the only time in the bible that God actually challenges us to prove him at his word. When you tithe you show God that you have enough faith in him that you believe him when he said that he will provide for us better on the 90 percent than if we had the whole 100 percent. We have been tithing for years and are not about to stop even when money is tight. God has always seen us through hard times and I’m not going to tempt fate by rebelling against him now. I pay our tithe first before the bills are paid and somehow the bills get paid no matter what comes up. I trust God. How about you?
