To: Federalist Patriot

I always describe Hiroshima and Nagasaki as perhaps the greatest humanitarian acts in history. A million lives were saved. Aside from medical research (antibiotics, etc), you can’t find too many other simple events which saved so many.

VFW Mag in August re-ran my “Liberal Lie” regarding Truman’s decision to drop the bomb. One Korean woman, asked if it was the right decision, countered by asking, “How many bombs did they have?” the answer was, about six, she said, “They should have dropped them all.”

The bombs wound up saving a lot more Japanese lives than even American lives.

And it prevented a potential Japanese Civil War, which would have made the Korean War look like a walk in the park.
