I disagree with one thing you said. You said they were not paid, but they were, with a free bus ride and free food.
A local radio station here is organizing buses to go to the 9/12 rally in DC. But I would have to pay for my seat on that bus.
So once again, the astroturfers are on the left, not right. And I would call the peaceful respectful lefty group an exception, not the rule. Perhaps the leaders were tipped off to your true motives.
“I disagree with one thing you said. You said they were not paid, but they were, with a free bus ride and free food.”
I said I had a “gut feeling” they were not paid. I would not be surprised to find out that each of them received several thousand dollars to make that trip. It was extremely uncomfortable.
As for astroturfers being on the left and not on the right, I totally agree with you. I have been a conservative activist, out in the streets demonstrating, since 1999 and no one has ever given me a penny to demonstrate for the conservative side.
As for them being “peaceful” lefties, the organizing young gal knew exactly how prone they were to violence as she practically begged them not to interfere with the anti obama demonstrators. She knew how it was portrayed in the media after the Pelosi event in Denver (by the Denver Post no less and picked up by Drudge). She did not want anyone in that group to be proven violent in the media.
Bottom line, I just reported what I experienced and saw for myself.
Why don’t you plant yourself on a busload of Union members and lefty activists for a day and then share your take on what you see???
