I couldn't believe it when I saw this headline: Man accused of beheading wife appears for estate hearing.

"The case of slain cable TV executive Aasiya Zubair Hassan spilled over into a second courtroom today as Erie County Surrogate Barbara Howe conducted a closed-court session on her estate and its ultimate disposition."

Was she nagging at him at the time?

No, she was leaving him and he killed her because of it.

The husband (who has been honored by CAIR) felt his honor was being impugned and being a Muslim man, it was his religious duty to behead her - thus guaranteeing him a slot in paradise.

Happy now?

He has a point. If you are Muslim you are insane imho.

I don't know who deserves a bullet in the back of the head more - the Muzzie heathen who decapitated his wife, or the sub-simian, POS legal counsel who think they have some perverted moral impetus in even trying this.

I agree with you, xp38. Up to a point.

This particular lover of Mohammed and serial wifebeater had enough of his wits about him to:

“...trick her into coming to the station, WHILE the kids were waiting out in the car...AS he beat the living shi% out of her and then cut her head off. THEN he showered in the office shower and had enough presence of mind to walk out of the murder scene and hand his 17 year old son $4900 in cash because “he’d probably need it”.”

That tells me he had planned the whole thing in advance and in cold blood.

His wife, Aasiya Hassan, did not deserve this.

I like the way you think, Viking 2002.

His attorney is James Harrington, and it looks like he's a lefty terror supporter, America hater, al Qaeda lover and defender of cop killers from way back.

Throughout his career, Mr. Harrington has handled many noteworthy cases, in state and federal courts. One of Harrington’s highest profile cases was the defense of Owen Carron, a member of the British Parliament and a leader of Sinn Fein in Northern Ireland, who was arrested at the U.S./Canadian border while attempting to enter the United States.

Jim also successfully represented Rey Avelino, a Canadian, who was charged with importing jet airplanes from Vietnam in violation of the Trading With the Enemy Act. Most recently Mr. Harrington was in the national news for his successful efforts to get bail set for our client, one of the so-called “Lackawanna Six,” individuals charged with providing material assistance to Al Qaeda. He has a string of improbable acquittals in a wide variety of criminal cases, including murders, drug cases, and sexual offense cases, in which a guilty verdict had otherwise seemed inevitable.

One of the first attorneys to be certified for the defense of capital cases in New York after the 1995 reintroduction of the death penalty, Jim was lead counsel in the only death penalty case which was tried in Buffalo under the new statute. Jonathan Parker faced the death penalty for having shot, and killed a Buffalo police officer. Mr. Harrington persuaded the jury to spare the life of his client following a lengthy trial. He has since been appointed to several capital cases, succeeding in avoiding the death penalty in every one. He has also represented pro bono, a man convicted of a capital case in Georgia, who was sentenced to death, in his post conviction habeas corpus case. http://tinyurl.com/nvo87e

.
Shouldn’t “honor killing” not always be done in cold blood? Otherwise it would have to be registered as a crime of passion.

Don’t even get me started on the “crime of passion” clause, 353FMG.

While living in NJ, I had a physician neighbor who bashed his wife’s head on the floor of their garage until she was dead, propped her up in the driver’s seat of their SUV, and using the snow scraper to work the gas, drove his car and dead wife into the creek behind our house. He cut up the rags he used to clean up the mess, the shoes he was wearing and the snow scraper and stuffed them up the flue of the fireplace of his multi million $ house.

He got two years in jail under a crime of passion ruling.

I’m not sure that’s do-able, but I’d sure like to be on that jury.

I'd like to have you on this jury too, AirForceMom.

{Although just our having this conversation would probably disqualify you from the jury selection process. :^( }

I hope that honor killing victim, Aasiya Hassan, will see justice.
