I have been posting here for years that Public Enemy # 1
is our public school system. My daughter attended private schools until 12, then home schooled until she entered Stanford at 16 1/2. She is now 26, successful, married, and well adjusted. Anyone who sends their kids to public school is taking a big risk. You could be a great parent, but they have your kids all day.
We should disabuse ourselves of the idea that a parent can undo the government indoctrination.
So?...How is a parent supposed to deprogram a child? De-programing is actually far, far, more work that simply homeschooling correctly the first time! They would need to quiz the child every day, read his textbooks, review all literature assigned, and examine all homework.
Then there is the fact that a child is awake for a finite number of hours in a day!
* A child sleeps 9 to 11 hours a day.
* He is in school for 6 or more hours.
* As he grows older he will have after school activities and events.
* Many children have music and dance lessons, and private sports such as soccer.
* He rides the bus for 1 to 2 or more hours a day, and there is even more time waiting at the bus stop.
* He needs time to play freely outside after school.
* In the evening there is homework.
* If adults want time to relax with the Internet and/or TV, then surely a kid would like and need this time as well.
* He is in contact with other government schooled children ( with government values) after school and on weekends.
* And...I surely would not consider the early morning rush to get dress, eat, and get to the school bus “quality” time.
So?....Just exactly when is a parent supposed to undo government school damage? Seems like the government schools have the advantage here.
I find it appalling the number of conservatives here on Free Republic that believe that:
*Getting rid of the unions would fix government schools.
*Getting rid of the Department of Education would fix government schools.
* That if only conservatives could control the schools and impose their values on captive children by government schools then the schools would be fixed.
UNBELIEVABLE !!!! STOOOOPID CONSERVATIVES!
1) They do not understand that any government powerful enough to impose their values on other people's children is powerful enough to impose godless communfascism on theirs!
2) From the very first day of kindergarten the child learns that the government can force his neighbor to pay for a service his parents want for free! Just by attending government schools the child learns **socialism**! It is a short step from education socialism to believing that the government can force his neighbor to pay for retirement, disability, ICU care, medicines, transportation, entertainment, food, clothing, housing..etc.
Communfascism is our nation's most serious threat! Government schools are their MOST powerful weapon against freedom and conservatives consistently do NOTHING!!!!!!!!
( I am exasperated! And...I am shouting!)
