When I was a kid, I loved the show Family Ties. In one episode, the Keaton's got involved in an impassioned town debate over the issue of book banning. The episode climaxed with a town hall debate in which citizens spoke their mind. One by one, speakers spoke, and the father, Steven Keaton, kept finding that people were taking his points. By the time it was his turn, all his points had been made. So, Steven stood up and said, "I think now is a good time for a round up of what we heard tonight".
That's how I felt watching this speech. There is nothing new here. The president has made these points over and over and over and over again. Yet, he seemed to think that if he made a prime time address that suddenly people would see things differently. This is absurd. It's ridiculous and frankly it's insulting.

no sale, same old shuck and jive.
The magic has died.
I am absolutely convinced this guy is part of a group where he is considered little more than an employee ~ more or less on the order of the relationship of Yasser Arafat to the PLO/PLA.
It's just a job as far as he's concerned, and he'll stick with it as long as the barbeques and weekened entertainment are good and he gets 6 full weeks off at a location of his choice.
I suppose George Sorros is supplementing his federal salary ~ which is entirely too little for a guy who is not really commited to being President.
WHICH version of WHICH plan? This is perfect cover for Barry, since ANY criticism of ANY plan will require The Thug in Chief to "call you out". This is classic chicken sh*t!!!!
Again, tonight, the anointed one tells us that a large portion of the ‘cost’ of his vision of healthcare reform will be paid for by reducing fraud and waste in Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental care programs.
So...let me ask this, AGAIN. If he knows there is this much fraud and waste in those programs, WHY ISN’T HE ADDRESSING THAT ISSUE RIGHT NOW?
Even more pathetic is the fact that he likely changed some minds, tonight.
But, worst of all...there are some RINO’s willing to help him push this legislative sludge off on the American people. The DhimmiRats OWN the Congress and the White House. They DON’T NEED THE PUBBIES. They can pass anything they want. Let them do it! The Pubbies ought to be shouting this at every street corner. They need to make the ‘Rats shoulder the responsibility for ALL OF THIS SWILL.

>Almost painful watching Goober
LOL!
best nickname yet. Thank you!
As an employer I was not moved by The President’s speech. I have seen my business grind to a halt as this economy is on life support and creating more ways to tax my business will put more folks on welfare in the fourth quarter.
Good jobs are leaving America as the democrats want to tax business to death. Add on Cap and trade and other issues and America is done as a capitalist nation.
I don’t need to provide jobs for almost 300 employees when I have enough for my immediate family for a couple of generations. But my family has run this Business for over 85 years employing hard working Americans.
Does my congressman or my President really care about the 300 employees?
I care for them as that is why I keep my family business open. I know the names of the husbands, wifes, kids and grandkids.
Mr. President should I stay in business or do you tax my business out of business?
He doesn’t reshuffle it ~ he has a writer to do that. Still, he’s gothis 3X5 cards down so he’s not totally blindsided anymore when left without his teleprompter.
Yes, and we're done playing..
sw
He's not capable of addressing any issues. Look at the crumbling economy, massive unemployment, and the collapsing dollar. He can't even manage to have his agencies payout cash for clunkers in an efficient manner. The guy is an empty suit with empty words.
He may change a few minds, but then again I bet not that many people even bothered to watch Barry the TOTUS.
Shocking!
Nobody that has seriously met a payroll, struggled to provide reasonable benefits for employees and been crapped on heavily and frequently by regulation and taxes in spite of all best efforts to just not see any of the govt. people has a CLUE what you go through and how seriously you take it.
Tradition, honor, integrity, loyalty, pride ...not in the language of bureaucrats or politicans.
