In the wake of Obamas controversial missile shield decision, it is important to consider the big picture. America spends a lot of money on military expenditures and both the Right and the Left feel strongly about this figure. As of 2008, America is spending a quarter of its expenditures on Defense and about 9% on welfare (this number is important) out of roughly 2.5 Trillion.
Missile defense is the single most expensive DoD project costing over 8 billion dollars annually, twice as much as the F-22 Raptor procurement. (Source: Page 5) with a significant portion of the costs going overseas. It remains unclear how much of that figure is spent on our allies, but that portion needs to be cut.
Moving on to Europe.

The big picture is what will other countries think about investing in America with such a coward closet homosexual as President.
Well gee, if something should happen to Europe, then the Arabs would be forced to takeover Russia! Somehow I don’t think Putin, KGB types would be quite as methodically PC as the European left! So rioting “eastern youths/students” might get SHOT rather than welfare checks!
I think this is part of the Iran problem. We want to get tough with them on the nuclear issue. Alienating the Russians pushes them into the Iranian camp. Don’t forget, the Russians and Iranians are geographically close. Biden’s trip to Georgia was provocative to the Russians. Axing the missile shield eases tensions and helps keep the Russians neutral leaving US and the Izzies room to come down heavy on the Iranians. It is all a chess game. The Iranians invented chess, the Russians are masters at it. Our skills are improving.
I am not condoning scrapping the shield to ease up on the Russians, because Russians have an appetite no one can please. If this happens to be the side effect, fine, but I am suggesting in my article that we might inspire Europe to take care of it’s defensive needs by itself! Just like we want our poor citizens to climb out of poverty by themselves and not with the help of the federal government.
I don’t see how foreign investment suffers because of our Loser-in-Chief.
“This will be a bitter disappointment, indeed, even a warning to the people of Eastern Europe,” said Mr Kyl, who pointed out that both Poland and the Czech Republic had sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan. “Today the Administration has turned its back on these allies.”
They will back the Euro now and not the dollar.
