Another blast from the past!
DUMMIE, DUMMIE, DUMMIE (by Ohio Suppress)
Tune: "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" (by Ohio Express)
DUmmie, DUmmie, DUmmie,
You're so dumb that it's funny
On the Ant Farm called DU;
Freepers read your ravings,
That's what we are craving
On the threads that we call DUFU.
DUFU, I read ya!
DUFU, I need ya!
DUFU, I laugh out lou-ou-ou-oud!
DUmmies, you're loony,
Loonier than Clooney!
Moonbats, fear the Rovian Clou-ou-ou-oud!
DUmmie, DUmmie, DUmmie,
You're so dumb that it's funny
And I laugh when I read DUFU!
In before the pinging!
PJ is the Ping King!
Sign a book deal with him soon!
DUFU, I read ya!
DUFU, I need ya!
DUFU, I laugh out lou-ou-ou-oud!
DUmmies, you're loony,
Loonier than Clooney!
Moonbats, fear the Rovian Clou-ou-ou-oud!

We started by satirizing just the DUmmies of Democratic Underground, but PJ has expanded our horizons to take in the KOmmies of Daily Kos and the HUffies of Huffington Post. And PJ also got a DUFU mention in the WALL STREET JOURNAL back in January of this year. That really cracked me up. To see the "DUmmie FUnnies" named in that exalted periodical.

BTW, that Dan Rather pic was from a comix story I wrote that was illustrated by Brian Chin. I worked with Brian on my own hard copy publication called "Scandal Sheet." I was interviewing lots of cartoonists and was not pleased with what I found. And what I found was STUPIDITY on a massive scale. One cartoonist never heard of Ted Kennedy. Another cartoonist whom I interviewed in a hotel lobby almost got both of us killed when we crashed an adjoining wedding and the cartoonist stuck half his arm into a giant vat of decorative jello and we had to run from the enraged wedding party.
Anyway, when I got to Brian I was starting to think I would never find an intelligent cartoonist. Turned out that Brian was one of the best read people I ever met. He even read the lengthy and difficult "Japan's Imperial Conspiracy" and almost no one has ever read that book. Okay, I did but I'm weird. Anyway, that impressed me. Plus his other cartoons have incredible degree of historical research behind it. Like a whole series about the Moro war in the early 20th century and another series about a stateside army officer during WWII.
Okay, returning to topic now...

PJ--who is probably celebrating the DUFU anniversary even as we speak by feasting on Jamaican jerk chicken and Flor de Caña rum with Li'l Beaver at DUFU Mansion Actually I'm feasting on my FREE TGI Fridays eggrolls that I got for nothing last week with my coupons. Actually my freezer is/was crammed full of those FREE dinners. (Love the buffalo wings).

Happy 5th to one and all!
I have to agree that the estimable William Rivers Pitt IS the all-time Greatest DUmmie and still makes for the most entertaining DUFUs. The second most entertaining DUFUs were the ones involving that magnificent bastard, Karl Rove. And the third most entertaining were those that featured, oh what was his name again? Grove, I believe he said it was. Yes, that's it- Grove, Kurt Grove.

Thank you both so much for all the insights, the drama, the cringes, the laughs and of course, the FUn all these years.

The kid was perhaps one of the greatest commenters here the first couple of years, but then he disappeared. His sharp sarcastic wit was beyond comparison, and is missed badly.
