Yup.
We really, really need a “initiate” period where new signups can just lurk for say 2 months before they can post.
Considering how many sites out there are getting hammered by trolls, and the amount of self serving blog BS that is going on here, it’s a necessity.
And it could be combined with a deal where if Joe Blow wants to signup and wait to post, it’s totally free, but if Mr. Imhot wants to signup and immediately post, it’ll cost him a couple of bucks.

What jerks these guys are!
Since FR has a section for blogs/personal, I’m not sure they can really expect people to not post in it with uh....blog posts. I think I’m noticing more anal retentive possessiveness these days than blog pimping. Yeah, it looks dumb to post two sentences and make people go to your blog instead of posting an interesting thread (in this case maybe they didn’t want to repost all the pictures). But, when they get very little traffic or comments to their post, they’ll figure out that they need to give people something to read and comment on...not just click on.
