For All.
Mihailovich is the hero of this story but Mansfield is certainly a courageous, and fascinating figure. A graduate of Harvard Law; a Marine recruited into the OSS; a parachute insertion from 1,000 feet; unraveling the myriad conflicting interests, truths, half-truths, and lies of war time Yugoslavia; and ending up with a seat on the 2nd District Federal Appeals Court.
Also, there was a book published in the early 1990's by one of the British officers who traveled with General Mihailovic during the war, called "The Rape of Serbia" by Michael Lees, which also independently attests to what Mansfield testified to here.
The Mansfield testimony also mentions some Slovenians who joined the Chetniks. I met the daughter of one of those Slovenian Chetniks while I was taking a university class in the SF Bay area about 25 years ago. The woman heard my last name called, asked what nationality it was and got really excited about telling me her dad's story. In all honesty, I hadn't even known that there were Slovenian Chetniks before I met her.
