I heard Palin is a RINO because she endorsed Chris Christie in the NJ gubernatorial race

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not.
But Palin's endorsement of Christie was more of a show of support for the Republican Governors Association (for their support of Christie and McDonnell) than specific support for Christie.

I was being sarcastic. I was mocking the typical tendency of many FReepers to break out the RINO stick the first time some politician does the teensiest, tiniest thing that that, personally, don't like.

Unless you have some sort of inside information about that that the rest of us aren't privy to, I'm going to have to chock your comment up to simple wishful thinking.

The Christie endorsement shows that Palin is not only conservative, but smart, too. She's smart enough to realise that Christie is about the furthest Right you're going to get in New Jersey and still be electable. Sure, we'd all love to have a red meat FReeper conservative running, but someone like that will not win statewide in NJ. As it is, Christie is conservative enough, and Palin recognises that. Palin - unlike many FReepers - is smart enough to understand the difference between a true-to-life RINO and someone who is merely centre-right, who may not be AS conservative as we'd like, but who still is generally with us on most issues.
