Southwestern Fairfax County report ... our precinct is the Clifton Elementary School - in a heavy turnout you have to park at the bottom of the hill and trudge up the access road a quarter mile.

I voted today at 8:45 AM and was no. 135 in the R-Z name group. Took my wife there at 2:30 after she finished some errands and she was in the 450 range.

Both at 8:45 and 2:30 today I was able to park in the very small parking lot at the front door of the school. We’ve voted here for 22 years and this is the first time I can recall being able to snag a parking spot around the front door once, let alone twice.

This precinct is normally heavily Republican, so I hope there was a major turnout early in the day and for folks on their way home from work.

City of Alexandria: no bee hive of activity around Cora Kelly, which is down the street from the ACORN office in Arlandria (I'm not joking; there's a realy Saul Alinky community organization down here), like there was at the Presidential.

In Del Ray (very lib), a trickle of yuppies, not diverse at all, unlike the melting pot with long lines for the Presidential. FYI.
