And if they paid him more and recruited some extra players maybe they could beat some teams. This year has sucked.

But hey to Bethany Stotts ——if you don’t like it become a football coach and then you too can earn some legit cash

I see the Liberals are out attacking college football coaches again (even some faux-cons do it as well)

College coaches are paid mostly from athletic budgets....which are privately-raised funds from athletic department....not taxpayers.

Only a small portion of Tedford’s salary is paid by the school (probably under $150K)....the rest of the salary is paid from ticket sales, boosters (private contributions), advertising revenue, and other private sources

Judging by the amount of liberal, global, and diversity trash spewed by the faculty and admin of schools like Cal....they deserve to make less money than the coaches

Coaching: one of the only university jobs that is remotely capitalist. Football and basketball coaches get big money since the NCAA and universities get big money from the networks and fans.

Most big-time football/basketball programs subsidize the rest of their college sports.

And his salary will look really bad when Stanford stomps all over Cal and regains the Axe in the Big Game.

The California Memorial Stadium at UC Berkeley also has a planned $430 million makeover.

It could certainly use a makeover, since its facilities are totally inadequate.

I get that the California schools are impacted by the budget crisis and that they have to cut back. The only thing that bothers me about this is these “furlough” days for professors.

I have a daughter, freshman at SDSU. Most of her classes have these furlough days which means there is no class or contact between the professor and the students.

I have to say that this PISSES me off no end.

She is an out of state student with no financial help from the state at all. Between the two of us we have taken out nearly $19,000 in loans. I am glad to do that as this is the school she really wanted to attend and she is doing great there.

But, what PISSES me off is that we PAY for these classes. As anyone who has gone to school knows, credits are usually based on the number of hours a class meets a week. Most are 3 credit classes and meet 3 hours a week. We are paying for 3 hours a week, 3 credits, but they are not meeting that much.

Cut elsewhere, but this a money directly paid to the school by the parents and students that is not being used for what it is intended. FRAUD!

Did I mention that this PISSES me off?
