It’s not worth it. I had a profile until I realized that there were some here who would use any personal bit of information against you. Even though it’s been gone for years, at least one unscrupulous FReeper has used it to mine for information.

Yep, putting personal info in a profile is dangerous as I found out. There are a lot of nuts around that will try to take thread arguments and engage in the real world.
The same goes for posting history. I sometimes think it would be wise to put some kind of limit on how far back the history goes... or allow one to lock out old posts.
Every once in a while some personal tidbit may be accidentally posted that a stalker can use.
