We don't have a Federal government. We have a NATIONAL government. That's why it says "We the People", not "We the States." People are taught "We the people" is a good thing but it's not. The Constitution created a national monster that has grown and grown and grown consistently and predictably. That's what Hamilton and his crowd wanted. I can't figure out if Madison was lying or stupid.
