Ted Stevens was a crook. Anyone who sends $250,000,000 for a stupid bridge ought to lose. As Jim Demint says “I’d rather have 40 like minded conservatives”.

Regardless, It’s obvious that the dems achieved their objective by getting rid of him and replacing his seat with a democrat. Now we need to get it back.

I can’t stand Begich, called his DC office prior to House passing their version of health care crap and told him as a constituent did not want him to support anything like that in the senate.

His office emailed back listing the “reasons” why he supported it, so I emailed back and asked him if it is so good why wasn’t he going to sign himself and family up for it too?...No answer back of course.

Regarding the bridge, I work construction on a lot of projects funded by both the State and the Federal Government (our money), looking at bid notices all the time for projects of similiar scope. It was not overpriced in my opinion, would have cost less than the Boston “Dig” per capita, and it sure wasn’t a bridge to “No where”.

It would have provided us access to our International Airport, State, Borough and more importantly, private land allowing developement and easing our constriction here on the thin narrow strip the Fed has so “generously” given back to the state for people to live on.

You may live here too, and like my wife think it was a waste of money, but if you don’t live in Alaska, or have never been to Ketchikan I just wanted to fill you in on some details you would never have seen in the MSM.
